Dorchester County holds more than 122,000 acres of wetlands, about 40% of Maryland's total, and its celebrations follow the water. The Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay in Cambridge has two ballrooms, waterfront pavilions and a Manor Lawn for up to 600 guests. Inland, Breckenridge Barn in Linkwood seats 250 in a post-and-beam barn on a 31-acre farm, and Layton's Chance Vineyard & Winery in Vienna hosts showers, birthdays and corporate parties.
Harriet Tubman was born here around 1822 and lived in the county about 27 years. Every March is Harriet Tubman Month, and the Harriet Tubman Museum & Education Center in Cambridge reopened in 2026 with immersive murals.

When Dorchester County celebrates
